“The idea for this painting came to me when I was at the top of a lookout tower in a park nearby. I thought it would be interesting to play up that “looking down perspective” with a Barred Owl in flight! Giving the observer the feeling of weightlessness. Using some molding-paste, I was pleased with the look of the old slash pine trees and the leaf & pine-needle covered ground.” -Peter R. Gerbert
