“Ask anyone who's seen Roseate Spoonbills in the wild, and they'll tell you that these rare birds are always a visual and entertaining treat; with their splendid color and unusual behavior. My design keeps the background almost near a complete grayscale; less color to the furthest background, accentuating the wonderful and almost florescent pinks in the birds. These spoonbills are flying by one of their favorite resting and nesting spots, mangrove islands surrounded by tidal flats. "The Spoonbill Islands" ...not a real place that I am aware of; that's just an intriguing title that I came up with. I like some of my paintings to feel like scenes from movies, so I figure the titles should sound like movie titles, too.” -Peter G |
