The Tricolored Heron made for the perfect subject, ascending from this pristine waterway; a secret passageway leading away from an unspoiled lake. The dense thicket and aquatics were originally built up with fibered molding-paste & gesso, actually creating some sculpted detail, adding to the illusion of depth. The original painting has many layers of acrylics.
