“The
sun was penetrating the tops of the tree-line just before
it began to set. This Belted Kingfisher remained perched as
we floated by it in my boat on the river. (Kingfishers are
skittish and usually take flight right away, making them difficult
to photograph!) I was so inspired to be getting close-up photographs
of this bird; I took a series of photographs of the background
to use for this painting design.” - Peter
