The design for this painting came from my experience and photographs taken on a guided canoe trip into the untamed marshes of the northern Everglades area. My goal with this piece was to achieve a striking color balance. The deep claw-marks in the branch that the Eagle is resting on gave me the idea for the title. Approximately three months of work including my research and design.”    -Peter G
